Several years ago Forbes voted St. Augustine, Florida among one of the “Top 10 Prettiest Towns” This is by far, my most favorite place on the planet & holds a huge place in my heart. Shooting there was a MUST! Founded in 1565, St. Augustine is the oldest continuously occupied settlement in the US, it is a hidden gem of the East Coast. While we were there, the city was celebrating their 450th anniversary. It was so exciting to be there & experience the energy & feel the town’s sense of pride as they honored St. Augustine’s history. To show off the city’s distinct historical character & beautiful, colorful architecture, the “Little Black Dress” was the perfect choice as not to compete with the gorgeous backdrop.
Gorgeous palm trees line the San Marco Boardwalk. There are breath-taking views of the Matanzas Bay along with the Castillo de San Marcos Fort behind me.
All of the buildings are splattered in vibrant pastel colors.
Housed inside of a building from the 1800s, which used to be a blacksmith shop, Crucial Coffee Cafe is the best coffee in St. Augustine. The most beautiful place to enjoy your beverage since all the seating is in the quaint outdoor courtyard.
The front facade of this private home is a wonderful example of the old world charm found in St. Augustine’s historic downtown.
The Casa Monica Hotel with its distinctive Spanish influence is one of the oldest hotels in the US. Sneaking up to the roof-deck pool, know as the Sultan’s Pavilion, was well worth the risk! Plush, striking, black & cream floral pattern daybeds surrounded the pool; can’t believe we had this enchanting place all to ourselves.
Channeling my very best Audrey Hepburn!
So there you have it! A glimpse into the most special place in my heart. More to come!
