With unseasonably warm weather last week, we headed into the city to change the backdrop a bit. My first thought was the North End because that is my all-time, favorite area of Boston. Then we toyed with the Seaport area with the boardwalk & gorgeous harbor views. But, as usual, Nicole & I stumbled upon this striking, black & red, stainless steel sculpture (artist, Brad Howe) in Boston’s financial district. It stuck out like a sore thumb among all the buildings, so we knew this was the spot! A little history revealed this piece was selected for the site “because it has lots of life, is very animated, has lots of spirit and pumps up the volume of the space.” Having something so modern, high-tech & bright smack in the middle of such an historical area was so odd is a positive way.

Culottes are having a moment & I don’t see it slowing down anytime soon. If midi skirts are my favorite sister, then culottes are my favorite brother having a tomboy-edge that is so suited to my personal style. They are a great for summer to fall, for day to night & casual to feminine. There are endless options of widths & lengths, colors & print, structured & flowy fabrics, so trust me that you will find a flattering pair. A must have for every wardrobe.
