So glad you joined the final collaboration of the Fab 40s for 2016!
THIS MONTH’S THEME IS MAD FOR PLAID
Thank you so much for taking this fun, monthly journey with us over the past year. Hope you will join us in 2017 for more styling fun.
I just wanted to take a moment to say a little something to my dear fashionista friends. To Sheela, Ann, Mary, Samantha, Veronica, Jennie: it has been such an honor to be a part of this group & so thrilled that you asked me to join this past February. You have no idea how much this group means to me, how much it has created a sense of belonging & given me more confidence that I could ever put into words. I admire all of you so very much & blessed to be able to call you my friends. Excited to see what the New Year will bring us!
Happy Boxing Day! Happy Day after Christmas Day! Happy Hanukkah!
However you celebrated, I hope everyone enjoyed a joyous Holiday time with your loved ones.
I decided to wait until I woke this morning to write my post. A moment of reflection about December, the Holiday time & what it meant to me this time around.
Well, I’m struggling to come up with any words to write about the past month as it was just like any other month to me. Don’t worry, I’m not about to become a “grumpy bumpy” or a Scrooge.
As I think about the past month, I realized how stressful it was for my hubby & myself. We were so lucky to enjoy an elegant, relaxing, fancy over-night stay at the Beauport Hotel; where we did our shoot for this look.
We were so blessed to book tons of weddings, events & parties. But, juggling all the work in the midst of renovating the only bathroom in the condo, our closet, painting the house, while living out of a suitcase for way too long at an Airbnb & losing our heat during the coldest week of the winter season was a lot to handle… Ooops, I’m being a “grumpy bumpy”, sorry. Greggy & I call this “first world problems”.
Everyone seemed to be so excited for the Holidays, parties they will attend, gatherings with family members, buying gifts, decorating their house & so much more. We knew we just needed to put our heads down, work hard & just gut through the month.
Yay! We did it!!! Today, I’m feeling a sense of relaxation & sigh of relief that all the craziness is coming to a close. We only have 3 more events of the season, we used our shower for the first time on the 23rd, the paint is one the wall, all the dust has been cleaned from every surface on the house, we actually made a meal in our kitchen on Christmas Day & put our feet up to enjoy a glass of wine (ok, several, hehehehe) in our cozy living room. Oh, how I appreciate home!
So, this year was a tough one, it didn’t go quite as planned. But next year we will make up for it. Watch out Griswold’s, we will be giving you a run for your money! I will place out every single Christmas decoration known to man, I will have a billion watts of lights covering the house, the tree will be sparkling & twinkling, we will host the infamous “Ugly Sweater” party, invite friends over for some spiked eggnog & spend Christmas Day with our family.
I wouldn’t want to go through the craziness with anyone other than my hubby! I love you Greggy!
I lasted less than 5 minutes outside, so had to shoot the rest of my look in the warmth of the hotel.
This is one of the most versatile prints & can be styled so many ways as showcased by these 7 stylish international bloggers. We have everything from cozy day looks to elegant glamour looks for evening!
GUEST BLOGGER for the MONTH
Alison of http://getyourprettyon.com
Our guest blogger for this month is Alison & my first question for her: Is how does she do it all?!?! She is brilliant, innovative, creative & such an entrepreneur & oh so stylish! She knows how to elevate a casual look by adding velvet pants & mixing animal prints with plaid. I can not get enough of her statement necklace; this is unbelievably stunning & one of a kind!

Jennie of http://www.apocketfulofpolkadots.com
My first reaction to Jennie’s look was WHOA!!! She pops of the page with the vibrant kelly green full midi skirt & chic red bag. Her plaid button-down has a hint of green to match her skirt perfectly. I love how she created a more casual vibe to her look by adding a denim jacket. Great minds think alike as Jennie mixed her plaid with animal print like Alison! Amazing!

Samantha of http://www.fakefabulous.com
What a gorgeous mix of rich, luxurious colors! She gives me so much inspiration when it comes to mixing different hues. Only Samantha can add red, magenta, purple & look so pulled together, glamorous & elegant. BRAVO!!! This look is all about the details down to the sparkly hosiery, embellished peep-toed heels, obi belt & fringed clutch. All I can say is WOW!

Sheela of www.sheelagoh.com
I know I keep repeating myself every month, but Sheela has blown me away AGAIN!!! She goes for it every time, thinks outside the box, can make anything look cool & she does it so effortlessly. Every piece in this look is a statement, but adding them all together, you have style of epic proportions!!! I’m not sure what I love most; the cape, the tee, leather culottes! Parisian chic, grungy cool, street edgy all rolled into one. Another WOW moment!

This is how to showcase your amazing curves! Mary has chosen such a luxurious color palette that lends to the festive Holiday feel & pulled this look together so beautifully. Delicate bow blouse, velvet Mary Janes & window-pane printed pencil skirt are the perfect details to bring a level of class, glamor & elegance.

Reversed plaid look!!! Standing ovation for Ann!!! She looks so festive, so fun with the full-on plaid print, yet so classy & elegant with cut of her top & length of her skirt. What is not to love with this look?!?! Ann’s drop earrings, striped bag (…. wait! She has 2 adorable bags!) & sparkly boots are the best finishing detail to complete this look. Might I add, the backdrop also adds to this joyous Holiday look.

Veronica of http://www.cidstylefile.com
Casual, cozy & super cool! The red is the perfect nod to Christmas & this color looks amazing on Veronica. The distressed jeans & ankle boots makes for a great day look, but mixing the red prints, tassle detail on her scarf adds that little extra touch. Did anyone notice how flawless her skin is? Stunning with the red lips & flush cheek color!
