Sometimes you just need to let go, have a little fun & Ann of Kremb de la Kremb gave us that opportunity with this month’s theme, Our Favorite Color. When our theme is revealed each month, I’m so curious what everyone will ultimately choose as their look to share. But, Ann took it one step further. Early last week, she predicted our color choice & here they are:
- Sam–red, for sure
- Jennie–either pink of purple
- Sheela–a deep red rose color
- Mary–I’m going to go with yellow
- Diane–I think a pale blue
- Vero–black, for sure
- Catherine–I guess peach!!
How well did she do? Results below!
Ann was right to think of light blue as the choice for my color as that has been my fav as of late. We have been renovating our Florida home in soothing seaside colors like soft blues, mint greens & soft teals & that is the direction we are taking with our new condo in Massachusetts.
But, when Ann reveled this month’s theme, I immediately though of colors that affected me emotionally. Soft, baby pink was my first favorite color as a child. I still have my little pink comb, brush, barrettes, mirror, toothbrush holder & soap dish. Baby pink might not particularly be in tune with my tomboy aesthetic, but it just brings fond memories of childhood & my mother. Being her only daughter after having 2 boys, I think my mom was the instigator of this as I know she was constantly fighting to get me into girly little outfits, dresses, anything. I distinctly remember a pink frilly, tulle dress my mom purchased for me in Philadelphia when I was 7 years old for a wedding. It was an empire waist silhouette with dainty, blue satin ribbon & delicate lace detail around the neckline. I wanted to wear navy blue corduroy overalls to the wedding, but she won in the end.
I was so excited to wear this head to toe Express outfit as this was one of my first purchases after my 3-month hiatus from shopping!
Catherine of http://www.notdressedaslamb.com
So, this is my starstruck moment! When Ann invited Catherine of Not Dressed as Lamb to join us this month, I felt like Ann handed us all the golden ticket & we had the rare chance to collaborate with an international star. Catherine has paved the way for, not only women 40 & older, but the fashion industry to throw the old rule book out the window. She is a leader in when it comes to dressing for occasion, not age. I don’t think there isn’t a blogger out there who doesn’t look to her as our role model & inspiration when it comes to dressing, fun fashion & impeccable style. The proof is in the pudding as Catherine just won UK’s Best Individual Fashion & Beauty Blogger! Again, huge Congratulations to you Catherine! You so deserve this award & so much more success in the future. Here is Catherine in another chic look in blush pink which is a color she is currently loving. This is a perfect spring look & the mixing of prints in her top & floral pants is so adorable & fresh.

Thanks to her Crayola crayon box, Ann found her favorite color when she was a child. It is midnight blue. Ann, I love that color, but do you remember Cornflower? That was one of my favs as well. Now, for Ann’s photo she has shared. Backdrop, check! Killer dress, check! Super fun sneakers, check! And, socks, BIG check! What’s not to love? Adding the sneaks & socks with such an elegant, velvet dress absolutely made me smile! Ann is our resident “think-outside-the-box” gal when it comes to styling & it’s amazing every time, I’m a #zaraaddict, but come on, I would never think to head to Zara Girls for a bag…. thanks for the idea Ann, I will head there next time I’m in store.
Ohhh, Ann, my other favorite color in the Crayola box was carnation pink!

Sheela of www.sheelagoh.com
I just get so used to everyone being with the Fab 40s group, it shocked me to hear this is Sheela’s last post with us. What will we do without our fearless leader? First, let’s put this into perspective. One, she doesn’t look a day over 40, let alone entering her 50s. Sheela, you look fabulous, fresh, youthful & stunning! If this is 50, I can’t wait! But, she does leave with a bang, doesn’t she? She defies what a woman in her 40s should be wearing & I love that she is so bold & unapologetic about it!!! Despite red being her NEW all-time fav color, Sheela is showcasing a color that has been her fav since childhood based on her mother’s recollection. She encourages me to try things that the norm says I shouldn’t. Thank you for just being who you are! You are such a badass! I will miss you!

Veronica of http://www.cidstylefile.com
I so need to go out with this girl! Veronica makes looking cool so easy! I’m on board with her so-on-trend overalls & bomber jacket. Hey, if you like the front, wait until you see the back! So feaking amazing & bold! Are those shoes iridescent?!?! Need! Need! Need! Can I have them when you are done? So, now I know Vero’s fav colors in this particular order: black, olive green, then burgundy, BUT not red!

Samantha of http://www.fakefabulous.com
You could never tell that Samantha chose a color that she used to hate… I mean REALLY hated… with how amazing she did with this look. With a growing love towards others’ take utilizing bright pink & wanting to try it for herself, Samantha has pulled together a colorful & cheerful ensemble. Not sure of the weather in Scotland, but with all the grey, drab weather we’re having in New England, this bright ensemble was so refreshing to see.

Jennie of http://www.apocketfulofpolkadots.com
Ok, so I had no idea this was Jennie’s favorite color, but I can see why now! It looks incredible on her & here is another look with her decked out in kelly green! I love that she took the match-matchy approach when she pulled this look together. I’m thinking brunch, ladies’ lunch, church service, fundraiser, Easter, Mother’s Day, Polo match, the CEO of the company & Jackie O when I see this look. This is an outfit perfect for many occasions. Jennie has pulled together such a chic, stylish, polished ensemble utilizing the best pop of color. Like Jennie did, I have to mention this one-of-kind vintage dress was purchased from Suzanne Carillo of Vintage by Suzanne on Etsy. But, I have to say my favorite detail is her beautiful little brooch!

You soooooo deserve this & you will be the most incredible ambassador for the brand! Will you get to meet Eva?!?! Now, this is how you do BOLD! What a ray of sunshine & I’m not only talking about her vibrant look, but her incredible smile. I bet she lights up a room when she walks in!!!
