Yes, I’ve been taking a long break from social media & blogging. But isn’t that what summer is all about? Getting away from it all?
Summer is all about escaping the hustle bustle of the city for idyllic beach vacations to rest, reconnect & rejuvenate. And, we’re actually so blessed to have the best of both worlds… living in seaside towns in Florida during the cold winters & Massachusetts during summer. New Englanders have a ritual of heading to the sandy shores of Cape Cod or the quaint coastal towns on the North Shore to relax & unwind during the summer months.
This is what everyone is impatiently waiting for all year round. I mean, seriously, what is the one thing everyone thinks about when it comes to summer?… THE BEACH! And what’s better than a day at the beach? Everybody loves the beach. What is it about summer & being so drawn to the water?
The bottom line is, people are so much happier when it’s sunnier & warmer. I swear there is a graph out there that scientifically proves that when the temperatures rise & the amount of clothes you peel off, the happiness levels rise exponentially. Less constricted clothes equals less constricted mind set. No for real… we are way less cranky during summer months…. at least I know I am & I think I can speak for the majority of New Englanders who are grateful to be thawing out after long, cold winters.
The days are long & hot & the nights are warm. I love waking with the sun already up. I love when the sun goes down & I’m still jacketless. The warm air feels incredible against my skin. I itch to be outside. But, most importantly, I love the more laid back approach to summer; it’s all about slowing down.
In the past, my typical lazy beach uniform was old cut-offs & a crappy pair of flip-flops. Now, I’m more inclined to want a sense of elegance & luxe with my summer beachwear & this sultry cover-up makes me feels feminine & super fancy. Now, if I could only get on that yacht, we’d be all set!
This tunic along with the entire Amita Naithani collection is carefully crafted with delicate detailing like eyelet, fringe tassels, fun tie-dye & bohemian crochet. My Batik Print tunic is such a beautiful piece with contrasting prints that’s so comfortable & breathable. I love the versatility & how well it transitions perfectly from beach to bar & beyond as I’ve shown in this previous blog post.
What are your go-to beach cover-ups for the beach?
